Echo Rowing Shells Announces International Marketing and Sales Director to Spearhead the International Expansion of Echo Open Water Rowing

Echo Rowing Shells announced today it has retained Maryellen Auger of Rowing for All as International Marketing and Sales Director. Auger will spearhead the international expansion of Echo’s marketing and sales efforts, including expansion of their dealer network, improving the company’s online and social media presence, as well as promoting the sport of open water rowing overall.

Auger will spearhead the international expansion of Echo’s marketing and sales efforts, including expansion of their dealer network, improving the company’s online and social media presence, as well as promoting the sport of open water rowing overall.

Maryellen Auger comes to Echo as a career-long marketing and sales specialist, with a strong personal commitment to growing the emerging recreational sport of open water rowing. Auger has been a consultant and entrepreneur since 1982, starting First Night in Burlington Vermont as well as consulting to First Night Boston. She is a founder and co-owner of Homebase Abroad, Ltd., a leader in the luxury villa vacation market. Auger’s most recent endeavor, the creation of Rowing for All in 2009, brings her full circle, integrating her deep knowledge of effective, targeted sales and marketing campaigns with her love of open water rowing. Auger began rowing in Hingham Mass in 2001 and discovered the Echo in 2007. She owns two Echos herself, and is on the water March – November from her Marblehead Mass. home. In 2009 she completed her first Blackburn Challenge in an Echo.

Massachusetts and both are still rowing today. Ted Perry is responsible for handcrafting each shell at East West Boat Builders, of which he is sole owner, East West built Alden shells for 20 years. Lorna Martin Perry is one of open water rowing’s most effective and passionate advocates, with an intimate knowledge of all aspects of the sport and the business.
