Ambassador Energy Speaks at the International Roofing Expo and Appoints Veteran Roofer to Advisory Board

Compelled by the importance of roofing to the solar industry, Ambassador Energy takes a stand by speaking about it and appointing key players within its infrastructure.

Ambassador Energy Inc., a uniquely scalable solar energy solutions company, was selected to speak on the topic of Solar PV at the International Roofing Expo in New Orleans last month. The educational session, sponsored by the National Roofing Contractors Association and taught by Ambassador Energy’s CEO, Steve Fulgham and president, Kelly Smith, was attended by a diverse group of 100+ roofers with an interest in adding to their portfolios a solar PV offering.

Ambassador Energy’s commitment to marrying the roofing and solar industries is further articulated by the appointment of veteran roofer, Dan Williams of Dan’s Roofing, Lake Elsinore, CA to the Ambassador Energy Advisory Board.

Williams, a successful business owner with 23 years in the roofing industry, began exploring solar PV several years ago. In July 2009, Williams’ firm enrolled in Ambassador Energy’s Agency program, earned a certificate of completion from the Ambassador Energy Agency Training program, and is now selling and installing solar solutions to the Southern California residential and commercial communities.

Ambassador Energy has strategically taken an “Expert in Every Roof” approach to residential and commercial applications by seeking out and enrolling into its agency program companies with specialties in all types of roofing, including asphalt shingle, standing seam metal, metal shingle, foam, TPO, steel, composition, and all varieties of tile.

Constantly promoting “keeping non-roofers off the roof”, Ambassador Energy’s leaders continue to speak and write on the subject. “I believe that our solar industry is extremely fragile and open to exploitation,” said Smith. “What keeps me up at night are thoughts of unqualified contractors entering the marketplace, penetrating roofs, voiding warranties, putting structures and people in danger, and potentially causing catastrophic damage. It will be bad for the entire solar industry if safety and quality are not steering our installations. Our weakest links could really hurt us all.”

Smith’s mission, albeit tongue in cheek, is “keeping monkeys off the roof”.
