Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 17, 2010
Aastra USA, a leading company at the forefront of the enterprise communication market, announces it will be demonstrating a set of third party developed applications integrated with its Clearspan® Unified Communications platform at VoiceCon in Orlando, a leading Enterprise Communication Event.
These productivity enhancing applications, developed by Joedeveloper.net, include:
- Visual Voicemail - transcribes voicemails which allows you to read and search text of your voicemails, as well as other voicemail control functions from a web browser;
- Quickset Pro - a desktop application based on Adobe Air technology that manages a host of Clearspan call functions, such as Sequential Ring, Speed Dial and Remote Office; and
- Click2Call - allows click to call from a webpage using your Clearspan extension.
"I'm very pleased to show these third-party applications," commented Tim Whittington, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Aastra USA. "They clearly demonstrate Aastra's commitment to open standards which allows easy integration with existing infrastructure and applications, as well as applications of the future."
Development and integration of third party applications on Clearspan is made possible by Clearspan's Xtended Services Platform (XSP). The Xtended Services are a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that allows resources to be defined and addressed over HTTP with simple XML. This approach is the overwhelming choice for developers to create Web Applications. Capabilities provided by the APIs include:
- Call Control - Dial, answer, manage and release calls;
- Call Status - Notifications of the status and changes to calls in process;
- Call History - Placed, missed and received call plus call detail;
- Service Control - Enabling and disabling Clearspan Services; and
- Media Control - Conferencing, digit collection, Play/record, Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text (if equipped).
This development is independent of Clearspan and can be provided by end users, the IT department or third party developers to provide enhanced and business-specific applications.
"We are excited to be working with Aastra to demonstrate and provide value-added applications that enhance productivity and integrate business processes for Aastra's Clearspan customers," said Joseph Farrar, President of JoeDeveloper.net. "The open APIs in Clearspan facilitate ease of integration and promote adoption."
