A portion of the proceeds from the travel auction will go to support the various missions of the over 50,000 members of participating partner organizations: American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA), American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT), International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. The balance will go to the HSMAI Foundation to fund industry research, publications, educational programming and academic scholarships for students in hospitality programs throughout the world.
The "Getaways for Good" Auction is sponsored by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International Foundation which was established in 1983 to serve as the research and educational arm of HSMAI. Its mission is to provide opportunities to support and grow the sales and marketing profession, including the awarding of over $10,000 in educational scholarships annually and the publication and distribution of educational materials such as the recently published "The Traveler Marketer's Guide to Social Media and Social Networks" and "Demystifying Distribution 2.0".
