AnswerLab, a leading online user experience research company, today announced that Sal Becerra has joined the company as User Experience Research Manager. Becerra joins AnswerLab from LinkedIn, where he conducted all of the company’s user research, incorporating user insights at all phases of product development.
At AnswerLab, Becerra will be responsible for leading strategic research projects, continuing to expand the company’s international research offerings, and mentoring team members in user research techniques. AnswerLab clients will also benefit from Becerra’s social networking expertise.
At LinkedIn, Becerra established the in-house research lab, initiated rolling monthly studies, implemented the first iteration of Personas, and designed the framework for comparable user experience metrics across all product areas, including the marketing, international, and customer service teams. During his tenure at LinkedIn, Becerra studied and researched over 40,000 users through a variety of research methodologies. Becerra also held a number of senior roles at EMC Research, a full-service research firm.
His experience encompasses the comprehensive research process and includes: consulting with key stakeholders to understand their research needs, crafting custom research methodologies to collect actionable & objective data that will inform their business & design decisions, designing scripts and sample strategies, moderating sessions, analyzing data, and presenting and implementing the findings.
Becerra joins AnswerLab at a time when the company is successfully expanding into several new vertical markets, both domestically and internationally. Recent AnswerLab projects include work with Fortune 500 companies in the software, education, and financial services industries.
