Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2010
Tina Turbin, humanitarian, researcher and author of the celebrated children’s book Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy will release the Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy DVD (vivid audio-visual presentation of the book) with sign-language interpretation for the deaf on April 15th 2010.
During the author’s National Book Tour of ‘09, while visiting a school for the deaf, she was alarmed to learn that a high percentage of deaf high school students graduate at the 4th grade reading level. This opened her eyes to the need for materials to assist their education and raise awareness to these facts. Tina personally produced the DVD as a result. Official release of the DVD is scheduled for April 15th 2010, and will be available through Imagination Publishing Group, Victory Multimedia other major distributors.
Profits are generously donated by Tina to the Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf, as well as causes which support the improvement of literacy and education.
"In an outstanding show of compassion Tina has produced her entire book on DVD along with the addition of a sign language interpreter for deaf children. As an educator of the deaf, I appreciate her attention to this often overlooked and underserved population. The innovation of adding a sign language interpreter to her DVD was not only brilliant and appreciated, but it stands as strong proof that she truly creates from her heart." -- Carol Downing - Associate Director/Teacher, Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf, Nationally-certified sign language interpreter
