Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) March 16, 2010
James McCusker, founder of Chelmsford-based McCusker & Associates has been selected as a 2010 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager(SM). The results of this prestigious award, which is bestowed upon less than four percent of the wealth managers in the Boston area, were announced in the February issue of Boston Magazine.
James McCusker & Associates has offered consultation on financial planning, portfolio management, and tax planning and preparation for over twenty years. The firm is founded on the notion that people benefit from a holistic orientation to preserving and growing their wealth. From that foundation, the firm fosters a relationship with clients that features straightforward loyalty, positive energy and a good sense of humor.
"It's always nice to be recognized and it takes on special meaning when it comes from clients and colleagues," said James McCusker. "Our mission here is to continue to grow that trust."
It's no surprise to James' clients that he received this honor. "Jim has always given us excellent guidance in investing, weathering the market, and taxes," said Maggie Smith, of Groton, Mass. "Because of his independent view he puts client solutions first, not selling products."
Adds Joseph O'Leary of Maynard, Mass. "What I looked for in a financial advisor was trust, competence and stability. Jim has provided all three for over 15 years."
The FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award Program and its research process adheres to the guidelines established within the Investment Advisors Act of 1940 regarding third-party recognition.
Under the Program, by mail and phone, up to 200,000 high-net worth individuals and 10,000 financial service professionals are asked to name and evaluate wealth managers whom they know through personal experience, and evaluate them on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, whether the wealth manager meets client financial objectives, post sale service, quality of recommendations and overall satisfaction.
The questionnaires submitted to the reviewers are structured to make it equally easy for an individual to give negative or positive responses regarding each wealth manager evaluated. The company scores the survey responses to determine which wealth managers meet the identified standards, and screens wealth managers, based on their regulatory compliance history as reported by FINRA and other regulatory agencies. Only wealth mangers with five years of experience in the financial services industry are considered. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be included in the evaluation process or to be named as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager.
