Semantic technologies continue to break into the mainstream of web-based and enterprise computing. This year’s SemTech program reflects that trend, by emphasizing products and solutions that can be built or purchased today.

Semantic Universe announced today the release of the agenda and acceptance of registrations for it’s 2010 SemTech conference and tradeshow. The event will take place June 21 – 25, 2010 at the San Francisco Hilton in Union Square. SemTech represents a full spectrum of business, government, and consumer activity taking place within the field of semantic technology and brings together the most practical and advanced solutions in the industry.

Presented by co-chairs Tony Shaw and Dave McComb, this year’s program will be the most extensive to date. Over 1,200 attendees are expected, including industry experts, researchers, analysts, content providers, developers, and technology enthusiasts will fill seats to listen to top presenters and industry influencers speak about the hottest trends and topics in semantic technology today.

“Semantic technologies continue to break into the mainstream of web-based and enterprise computing” explains Semantic Universe president, Tony Shaw. “This year’s SemTech program reflects that trend, by emphasizing products and solutions that can be built or purchased today. And yet we’ve barely started to see the influence of semantics across a wide range of applications. The upside for these technologies is still enormous, and there is plenty of opportunity for developers and entrepreneurs to participate in the growth of the market.”

Technical and business-oriented sessions ranging from beginner through advanced levels will be offered. Topics will include:

  •     Linked Data and Open Government
  •     The Social Fabric of Semantics
  •     Semantic Web Technologies at Nokia
  •     The Enterprise Data Management Council Semantics Repository Case Study
  •     Ontology driven SOA Governance
  •     Semantics in Publishing
  •     Semantics in Advertising and Marketing
  •     Semantics in Healthcare and Life Sciences
  •     An Introduction to Semantic Web Technologies
