Microsoft MSN France Co-Founder Jean-Pierre Levieux and Internet Pioneer Orianne Garcia to Lead French Subsidiary

Glam Media’s French operations will be run by a duo of Internet and media experts, Jean-Pierre Levieux and Orianne Garcia. This is Glam Media’s first expansion since the downturn began and comes at the heels of the recent $50 million mezzanine funding.

The launch of Glam Media France marks the re-start of global expansion for the company and builds upon Glam Media’s successes in the United States, UK, Germany and Japan, where Glam has become #1 in the Women’s Lifestyle Vertical. Launching with more than 2.5 million unique visitors in France, Glam Media expects to significantly increase its reach to become #1 for women online in France.

Jean-Pierre Levieux, who joins as the General Manager of Glam Media France, has more than 15 years of experience with media and Internet companies. Mr. Levieux was responsible for launching Microsoft’s MSN Portal in France in 1996, and was a founding member of the French IAB. In addition to Mr. Levieux, another key addition to the French founding team is Orianne Garcia, Chief Marketing Officer. As founder of French well-known webmail company Caramail and several other successful Internet companies since 1994, Orianne is one of the most influential personalities in the French Internet industry.
