We saw such incredible results with the 2009 On The House partner, I jumped at the chance to partner with Matchstic and the On The House team again.
Atlanta, Ga. (Vocus) March 16, 2010
Matchstic, an Atlanta-based brand identity house, announces its second annual “On the House” campaign recipient, a deserving, local non-profit organization that will receive an entire brand make over. This year’s partner organization is the Atlanta Union Mission.
Atlanta Union Mission serves men, women and children in Atlanta through programs of rescue, recovery, and re-entry. It has provided a refuge for homeless and hungry individuals in Atlanta since it was established in 1938 with a single shelter. Guests of the shelters are provided hot showers, clean clothes, nutritious food and a safe place to sleep.
“Like many, we wanted to be generous during a time of economic difficulty,” said Craig Johnson, co-owner of Matchstic. “So, we decided to focus our efforts to impact one local non-profit organization and hopefully, ignite their potential. It is also a way we felt that we could impact our city, that is something we are passionate about.”
On The House combines the talents of several industry experts in Atlanta that join forces to give one deserving group a complete brand make-over.
Blake Howard, creative director and Matchstic co-owner, added: “We knew that the economy had especially affected the non-profit sector and that giving was down in general. People are selecting only those charities that they’re significantly invested in emotionally and physically to give. Which is why it’s so important for non-profit organizations to have a solid brand that effectively communicates their mission and value to the public.”
To kick-start the timeline, Matchstic will provide its signature brand identity services including a brand audit & brand strategy, leading to a rebrand of the logo, web site design, and promotional print materials.
Top Atlanta vendors who have teamed up with Matchstic to compliment the makeover include services such as Web development by Bottlecap Development, motion design by Battle Axe, brand shepherding by Branderfield, printing by StandardPress, public relations by See.Spark.Go, photography by Stephen Hunton, video production by Green Tricycle Films and trademark counseling by Foltz Martin law firm.
In addition, making “On The House” truly opportunistic is the contribution by local author and well-known brand strategist, Laura Ries of Ries & Ries.
Co-author of The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding and recently released War in the Boardroom, Ries will work alongside Matchstic during the strategy portion for the Atlanta Union Mission.
“We saw such incredible results with the 2009 On The House partner, I jumped at the chance to partner with Matchstic and the On The House team again,” said Ries. “This is truly an invaluable opportunity for any organization as investing in your brand is the number one step to being a successful and meaningful organization.”
By serving an organization with a level of expertise typically found in the business world, Matchstic hopes to substantially increase the non-profit’s efforts and establish their brand recognition within the Atlanta community. “On The House” launches March 15 following the On The House partners initial meeting with the 2010 recipient at the Atlanta Union Mission’s Shepherd’s Inn facility in downtown Atlanta.
