MontaVista® Software, LLC, the leader in embedded Linux® commercialization announced it has been elected to the Board of Directors of the GENIVI Alliance, an automotive and consumer electronics industry association driving the development and adoption of an open In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform. MontaVista was a Core member of GENIVI in it's inaugural year, and now assumes a seat on the board as GENIVI enters it's second year. Dan Cauchy, vice president of Marketing at MontaVista will sit on the GENIVI board.
MontaVista joined GENIVI as a Core member in June, 2009 bringing over a decade of experience in providing embedded-Linux solutions to the mobile, consumer electronics and carrier markets. MontaVista's unique combination of experience in consumer electronics combined with the demands of the telecom and carrier markets bring a unique perspective in it's leadership role within GENIVI. MontaVista is uniquely positioned to help GENIVI and its members bring a commercialized, multi-architecture, open source IVI solution to the market that meets the demands for reliability, low power-consumption, and fast boot-times required in automotive solutions.
