Wine enthusiasts can look forward to The Guardsmen’s 34th Annual San Francisco Wine Auction to benefit at-risk children at the landmark Fairmont San Francisco on April 24, 2010.
Celebrated as one of the nation’s most prestigious wine events, the gala will feature an extensive tasting of rare and limited-production wines; a gourmet 3 course dinner, more than 100 live and silent auction items including extraordinary travel packages and many bottles of “cult wines”, as well as dancing to Notorious.
The much anticipated event is expected to raise in excess of $250,000 for organizations within Northern California that The Guardsmen funds. A few of the more than 25 organizations which The Guardsmen supports includes The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland, San Francisco and Sonoma Valley; Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), The Okizu Foundation; the Salvation Army; and YMCA of San Francisco and the East Bay. The Guardsmen funds organizations that provide educational enrichment, support and life-affirming experiences for children in need.
Bond, Far Niente, Jones Family, Ken Wright Cellars, Kosta Browne, Lancaster Estate, Surh Luchtel Cellars, Boyd, Fritz Winery, Detert, O’Brien are among the 30 plus wineries to pour at this event.
Highlighting the one-of-a-kind live auction lots are: Exclusive use of a 60ft luxury yacht experience for 16 people, which includes a lunch and wine exploration hosted by Alpha Omega Winery. Other items include but are not limited to villas in Hawaii, a trip to Antarctica and an exclusive stay at a vineyard Chateau just to name a few.
The evening’s exciting schedule is as follows:
6 p.m. - VIP Welcome Reception
6 to 8 p.m - Wine Tasting and Silent Auction
8 p.m. - Gourmet Dinner
9 p.m. - Live Auction
10 p.m. - Dancing to Notorious
