Cyclomundo, the premier France-based cycling vacation operator located in the heart of the Alps, is proud to announce its recent collaboration with the organizers of the annual Alpes Open Tour. Cyclomundo is now the official bicycle touring operator for this race.
Cyclomundo specializes in affordable tours suitable for all levels of riding and in all regions of France (and even some tours in areas of Italy, Spain and Switzerland). Cyclomundo’s goal is to inspire freedom through self-exploration of unfamiliar landscapes and to provide the necessary means to a healthy and environmentally responsible vacation alternative. To ensure the most genuine and quality bicycling vacations, Cyclomundo personally develops each tour and deals with only local contacts. The locality of the company translates in the ability to customize tours on request, which sets Cyclomundo apart from other bicycle tour operators.
About the Alpes Open Tour:
The Alpes Open Tour is an increasingly popular annual race. It’s a “Rando-sportive” event that will be taking place from the 15th to the 20th of August. Over the course of six stages, participants will ride their bicycles from the shores of Lake Geneva and eventually reach Alpe D’Huez. This race is suited towards avid cyclists, although the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. As the official tour operator for this race, Cyclomundo will arrange all logistics for participants; from race entry to accommodations, meals, transportation and race support.
What makes this a unique amateur cycling race is the fact that professional cyclists, including ex- Tour de France champions, participate alongside the non-professionals throughout the six stages. Every year more and more professionals decide to participate in this race that closes the divide between amateur and professional cyclists. The complete list of participating professional cyclists will be released in early April. When released, this list of professional cyclists will be available on the Cyclomundo website: http://www.cyclomundo.com.
Bruno Toutain, founder and managing director of Cyclomundo, commented:
“The Alpes Open Tour is France’s only multi-day, cycling event for amateurs in the Alps. Because of this fact and the growing reputation of the tour, we’re very proud to become involved.”
Besides the Alpes Open Tour, Cyclomundo is the official bicycle touring operator for the L’Etape du Tour (July 18th, 2010) and La Marmotte (July 3rd, 2010). Visit the Cyclomundo website: http://www.cyclomundo.com for further information on these upcoming events.
