Caring for the Soul: Sound, Music, and Meditation as a Path to Inner Peace.
Los Angeles, CA (Vocus) March 17, 2010
On Wednesday, March 24th, Promises Treatment Centers will host a continuing education event for therapists at its West Los Angeles location. Jorid Nygard, MFT, will be offering a brief overview of the developmental stages couples go through, providing a better understanding of the power imbalances and stalemates that so often occur in relationship. She will also review therapeutic techniques that improve communication and encourage partners to explore internal vulnerabilities.
Cheryl Procaccini, LCSW, will be providing an experiential workshop called “Caring for the Soul: Sound, Music, and Meditation as a Path to Inner Peace.” Sound, meditation, and music have long been used to reduce stress, ease anxiety, improve concentration, manage pain, enhance positive emotions, and restore one’s sense of well-being. This workshop is designed for professionals, providing care for the caregiver and a healing environment for stress reduction and balancing one’s physical and emotional energy, which are important elements of addiction recovery.
Please RSVP for this event by emailing Lee Fitzgerald at email@example.com by Wednesday, March 17th. If you would like to bring a colleague in private practice, please provide their first and last name and licensure when you RSVP.
The event will be located at Promises West Los Angeles Residential, 3743 S. Barrington Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90066. Street parking is available.
Promises Treatment Centers is part of Elements Behavioral Health, which aims to fill the gaps in mental health treatment between inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services; in co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders; and between traditional and alternative settings to help clients that are underweight or overweight due to eating related and other issues. The goal is for full recovery and well being with permanent life change and lifestyle improvement and not just symptom reduction. Our focus is not only on the patient, but on the health and support of the family system. For more information on Promises Treatment Centers visit http://www.promises.com or call 866.466.1276.
