Donations from companies like Vemma provide the kind of supplemental nutrition that our partner agencies can use to improve the well-being of children, said Terry Shannon, St. Mary's President and CEO.
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 19, 2010
Hunger and malnutrition are serious issues compromising our youth in the United States. One in five children in Arizona is faced with hunger, according to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. As the world’s first food bank, this nonprofit organization has met the needs of those suffering from hunger in Arizona since 1967. Vemma Nutrition Company joins forces with St. Mary’s, through Vemma’s NEXT Helping Now Project, to provide the premium nutritional supplementation of Vemma NEXT™ to thousands of undernourished children throughout the state of Arizona. Vemma is thrilled to assist St. Mary’s in their quest to reach as many children and families as possible. The food bank currently distributes enough food to provide nearly 300,000 meals per day to those in need throughout the state.
Vemma Nutrition Company will donate nearly 100,000 servings of Vemma NEXT annually to St. Mary’s, who will distribute Vemma NEXT to children who are under-served and undernourished through the food bank’s agency partners. The finest and most complete children’s supplement available, Vemma NEXT is physician formulated and includes the clinically proven immune enhancing and bioavailability results of its proprietary Vemma nutrition formula. Ideal for children ages 2 to 12, Vemma NEXT is enhanced with key nutrients that meet or exceed 100% of the USRDA, quercetin, over 65 plant-sourced minerals, 14 organic fruit and vegetable phytonutrient sources, choline and an all-natural vegetarian source of DHA (omega-3 fatty acid) to support healthy growth and development.*
Vemma Founder and CEO, BK Boreyko commented, “Through St. Mary’s, we have found an effective way to help thousands of children in nutritional need, right here in our state of Arizona. This is what the Vemma NEXT Helping Now Project is all about; it’s about doing what we can right here, right now.” Charity Navigator, the nation's top charity evaluator, has awarded the Food Bank its top rating (4-stars) for seven consecutive years, an honor shared by only two percent of the charities it assesses. “With one in five children struggling with hunger issues, providing not only food, but nutritionally balanced meals to those facing such challenges, is important to the Food Bank,” said Terry Shannon, St. Mary’s President and CEO. “Donations from companies like Vemma provide the kind of supplemental nutrition that our partner agencies can use to improve the well-being of children.”
