Today, mobile analytics firm Motally announced senior additions to its management team and board that solidify the company's positioning in the rapidly growing mobile web and applications business. Former Nielsen Mobile SVP of Product Management, John Forese joins the company as CEO and former Google Vice President of Product Development, Doug Garland has been selected to the company's board of directors. With the addition of Forese and Garland, the company aims to continue to scale its award-winning analytics services for mobile websites, apps, mobile games on the iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry platforms.
John Forese joins the Motally team with more than fifteen years of professional experience with a background in both the mobile and analytics industries. Most recently John was SVP of Product Management at Nielsen Mobile. Previously, John was an SVP at Telephia where he led overall product strategy and had P&L responsibility across the company's product lines. Prior to joining Telephia, John held various management positions at telecom and technology based start-ups, including Flashpoint Technologies, Netro Inc. and Pacific Bell Mobile Systems. John also spent four years as a management consultant working with key clients in the consumer packaged goods and mobile industries. John has a Masters of Business Administration from Stanford and an AB in Economics from Princeton University.
“Robust and accurate analytics are essential for anyone that wants to leverage mobile as a media platform”, says John Forese. “Motally's mobile web and application tracking is exactly what publishers and developers need to make data driven decisions that improve audience size and engagement levels. I look forward to working with the rest of the Motally team as we continue to expand our client base and tracking services."
In addition to their new CEO, Motally has also elected Doug Garland, a former VP of Product Development at Google to its board. Doug Garland has more than 20 years of experience leading the development and growth of broadband and mobile services and creating significant new businesses. Most recently, he was a Vice President of Product Management at Google, where he led the development of mobile and local ads products, as well as a number of syndication initiatives. Prior to joining Google, Doug was an executive in residence at the venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers. Earlier, he was a senior vice president at Yahoo!, where he led the launch of the broadband access business and the company’s mobile efforts. He also held executive positions with Excite@Home and leading wireless companies, playing a key role in the launch of Sprint PCS and the development of digital cellular while at PacTel/AirTouch. Doug began his career as a communications network engineer and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

"Motally is in a great position to help developers and publishers understand user behavior through the strong analytics that the team has developed.
