The first few rounds of the tournament in some ways are the most exciting. That's a big reason why the regional tickets get snatched up so quickly.

March Madness is here again as the 2010 NCAA Tournament got underway with a playoff game between Winthrop and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday March 16. While the entire tournament is comprised of the best college basketball teams in the nation, the East Regionals may feature the most talented teams as 3 AP Top 10 Teams have been seeded in the East. The East Regionals play begins on March 18 and culminates with the Regional Finals at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY on Thursday March 25th and Saturday March 27th.
Fresh off their SEC Tournament Championship over Missippi, Kentucky has been awarded the number one seed in the East. With emerging stars such as the freshman pair of DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall, Kentucky (#2 overall in the AP Poll) is looking to go far in the NCAA Tournament.
Also aiming to represent the East in the Final Four is 2010 Big East Tournament Champions and # 2 seed in the East, West Virginia. The Mountaineers are ranked 6th in the country by the AP.
The third AP Top 10 team fans will see compete in the East is New Mexico. Ranked 8th in the country and taking the 3rd seed in the East, the inclusion of The Lobos makes the East heavily stacked with three of the best teams in the nation.
The remaining teams are not to be counted out just yet either, as Wisconsin, Temple, Marquette, Clemson, Texas, Wake Forest, Missouri, Washington, Cornell, Wofford, Montana, Morgan State and East Tennessee State complete the East Regional teams. At 12th and 16th in the country, respectively, Temple and Wisconsin give the East five top twenty teams, any one of which can emerge victorious. Not to mention, as is the case every season, NCAA hoops fans can anticipate a few upsets among these early round games. With all the talent in the East, it is no wonder NCAA Tournament East Regional Tickets are difficult to come by this season.
"The first few rounds of the tournament in some ways are the most exciting. That's a big reason why the regional tickets get snatched up so quickly. Fans of the favorites have expectations of making the Final Four and fans of the lower seeds dream of their team upsetting one of the top seeds. With so much excitement and drama within each game there's something for every college basketball fan," says Tom Patania, CEO of SelectATicket.
