New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) hosted a presentation by world-renowned architect Richard Meier, FAIA, FRIBA, to a sold-out crowd of alumni, students, and others at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway on Thursday, March 11, 2010.

Richard Meier, managing partner of Richard Meier & Partners Architects, LLP, discussed his various projects throughout the world and shared photos of his award-winning designs and buildings. He described the thought process behind the design and development of each of his buildings to the engaged audience of aspiring and established architects, as well as those new to his work.

“Our architecture students and alumni really enjoyed meeting Richard Meier and learning about his projects and career in architecture,” said Judith DiMaio, dean of NYIT’s School of Architecture and Design. “Bringing such a prominent figure to NYIT inspires our incredibly career-driven students toward success in their chosen fields.”

Meier, who received an honorary degree from NYIT in 2009, has has received major civic commissions in Asia, Europe, and the United States, including courthouses and city halls, museums, corporate headquarters, housing, and private residences.
