We designed Versatility to clean the tallest heights in a room first and work down to the floor - a good spring cleaning strategy that prevents lower surfaces from needing to be re-cleaned.

Warming temperatures brings to mind a great American tradition - spring cleaning. An estimated 75 percent of Americans participate in some type of spring cleaning,* so it's important to know the best vacuum tools and strategies to help attack dirt, dust and clutter in the home.

After researching how Americans clean, Electrolux compiled these tips and vacuum tools to make this seasonal cleaning event a successful one:

  • Conquer closet clutter - When transitioning warm-weather clothing and footwear, be sure to vacuum the closet floor with a HEPA filter that captures and locks in 99.97 percent of dirt, dust and allergens. For an extra boost of freshness, place a box of ARM & HAMMER® baking soda in closets.
  • Freshen up floors - Make tile and ceramic floors shine with an old fashioned "hands and knees" scrubbing by using a non-abrasive bleach cleaner that kills germs without harming the floor's surface. And because carpet can hold up to 10 times its weight in dirt, take at least two vacuum passes to help remove deeper, ground-in dirt.
  • Knock out dirt with multi-surface tools - Choose a vacuum that offers telescoping tools to reach up high and down low, like the Electrolux Versatility. The first bagless upright vacuum from Electrolux, Versatility is designed with an innovative handle that quickly releases a telescoping wand system reaching up to 14 feet to make cleaning the tops of windows, bookshelves and stairs effortless. The vacuum automatically switches airflow power to the wand, which can be fitted with the exclusive @hand™ turbo brush tool to provide a deeper cleaning of pet hair, dirt and dust on stairs and upholstery.

"One major cleaning challenge is the need to use several tools to clean surfaces both high and low," said Jackie Cooper, director of marketing and communications for Electrolux. "We designed Versatility to clean the tallest heights in a room first and work down to the floor - a good spring cleaning strategy that prevents lower surfaces from needing to be re-cleaned."

Versatility's hassle-free cleaning is complemented by a three-stage cyclonic suction system that separates most of the dirt from the air before it reaches the filter, so the filter stays clean and the vacuum retains maximum cleaning power.

The vacuum also features a HEPA filter that removes 99.97 percent of small particles from the air while vacuuming, charcoal technology to absorb and eliminate odors and automatic height adjustment. An on/off brushroll switch allows for easy transitioning from carpets to bare floors, and deep cleaning is ensured with a powerful 12-amp motor.

The Electrolux Versatility retails for $299.99 and is available at Walmart in Amethyst and on Walmart.com in both Tangerine and Amethyst.
