CoupleDumb (http://www.coupledumb.com), the provocative and humorous blog, is proud to announce the release of its Happiness Manifesto. Lee and Paul Reyes-Fournier, the married couple behind CoupleDumb’s message of happy and healthy relationships, is now launching an initiative to help those in need of living a healthy and happy life.
CoupleDumb has developed their own public document of change that calls for people to grab happiness and promote it. The Happiness Manifesto is a calling to all individuals who seek to experience happiness as their natural way of life and can be read in its entirety on CoupleDumb.com.
The Happiness Manifesto (http://www.coupledumb.com/happiness-manifesto) states things such as “Happiness is an emotion. Happiness is intrinsic.” As well as “We are beholden to our progeny to set the example of happiness.” It is to help people to become active advocates of happiness, not just passive participants who wait for happiness to happen to them. It charges people to choose happiness and become role models. With the manifesto, CoupleDumb goes to war with misery and humor as its weapon, and a smile on its face.
“The day that we started writing about happiness our readership tripled on our site,” says Paul. “I think that people are looking for happiness. Unfortunately, that is the problem. Happiness is not something to be found outside of you. It’s inside each of us,” added Lee.
CoupleDumb is a witty and well-written blog that focuses on relationships of all types. From dating to marriage to parenting, CoupleDumb is unique in its commitment to honest and entertaining writing that promotes healthy and happy relationships for everyone. Understanding relationships as they do, CoupleDumb is looking for sponsors and advertisers that want to build a lasting and loyal customer base, like a perfect marriage.
Paul and Lee were married in January of 1989 amongst the comments of ‘it will never last’. Six months after they got married, the recession hit California. Within one week of each other, they were laid off from their well-paying, professional jobs. They enjoyed the time off until it became evident that people weren’t looking for therapists and that the aerospace industry would never again see the heyday it had enjoyed for decades. So they carbo-loaded on rice and mac and cheese.
They just celebrated their 21th Anniversary and have a relationship that, to their constant surprise, is atypical for most in that it is loving, exciting, and fun. After having people approach them to do seminars or write a book regarding relationships, they broke down and started this blog. "Our intention with this blog is to provide honest, sometimes raw, experiences from our own lives that will assist others in their relationships," explains Lee. They welcome questions regarding marriage, relationships, children, families, sex, dog rearing, cooking and anything Sci-Fi (specifically original Star Trek). Every question will be taken seriously and answered with candor. Occasionally an expletive will slip so please do not let your small children read this over your shoulder – unless you constantly use expletives in front of them. If so, then have them read to learn correct spelling and usage.
