Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 24, 2010
Unique to interior design professionals, the Business of Design Conference is the only industry event focused solely on the business side of this complex and fast-changing industry.
The Business of Design Conference was founded in 2004 by David Shepherd, an instructor of small business strategy at the McComb's School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Says Shepherd: "When I started consulting with interior designers, from sole practitioners to mid-sized firms, I was shocked at how complex their business model is. Given that they often received little formal business education, I realized the huge need for this annual event which we consider more of an executive education program than a trade show. I did not expect the amazing growth and results that we have had."
While Shepherd's annual "State of the Industry" and strategy segments are highly anticipated each year, BoD also brings together leading experts in areas such as marketing, social media, cloud computing, finance, operations, and other necessary skill sets. The company will be announcing these presenters and panelists in the weeks ahead.
"We've never had this level of buzz before, " Shepherd says. "With the move to New York, it seems that everyone wants to be involved and we're happy to find a place for them if they can contribute to the bottom lines of interior designers."
Registration for the 7th Annual Business of Design Conference opens April 1, 2010. The brochure and other information can be found at http://www.designingprofits.com. Early bird pricing (offering a $1,000 savings) is offered until June 1, or until all seats are taken. Seating is limited to take full advantage of the networking and learning environment with prior BoD events having sold out months in advance.
