Energetic Women, a service of MEA, announces the 3rd Annual Energetic Women Conference, June 15-17 in Concord, NC. “Energetic Women has delivered leadership training to women in Energy Operations and Engineering,” explains Mary Palkovich, director of engineering, for CenterPoint Energy in Minneapolis, “creating a larger pool of promotable women.”
“Energetic Women is a great resource for utilities to develop leaders, increase diversity in the ranks and thereby enjoy a sustainable future for everyone in the organization,” says Stephanie Menning, vice president of gas services for MEA. “Our conference is specifically designed for emerging and experienced leaders, and connecting them with their peers across the U.S.”
This year’s Conference features keynote speaker, Sally Helgesen, internationally acclaimed author, speaker and leadership development consultant, as well as a tour of Duke Energy’s Marshall Coal Plant, a session on the experiences of young utility professionals, and a panel of experienced women leaders on project management, handling tough assignments and responding to challenges.
The industry-wide effort is supported by many industry organizations including national and regional associations, utilities, contractors and vendors from the utility industry. Association support includes:
American Gas Association (AGA)
Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD)
Northeast Gas Association (NGA)
