ConveyLinx: ® The Networked Conveyor System For People Who Hate Networks

Share Article

The new ConveyLinx ® control system for Motorized Drive Rollers (MDR) provides the benefits of a networked conveyor system without the hassles. With the push of a button, ConveyLinx automatically operates multiple zones of linear conveyor right out of the box, without any special tools or software.

The ConveyLinx Ethernet Roller Speed Control (ERSC) modules recognize the type of sensors in a system and automatically detect the direction of the package flow. With this network solution, users always know the status of every part of their system and the location of every package on the conveyor. The information gathered over the network also assists in tracking wear and tear on equipment for predictive maintenance.

The advantages of the ConveyLinx plug and play control include:

  • Push-button configuration for network control
  • Safe, low-voltage MDR system
  • Simple zero-pressure accumulation (ZPA) control
  • Automatic recognition of motor direction, sensor type
  • Controls any manufacturer’s motor
  • Works with any Ethernet-capable PLC
  • E-stop functionality

According to Randy Combs, President of Insight Automation, “Our goal was to develop a conveyor control system that was far less complicated than systems currently available. We focused on two key benefits in this new product design, which were ease of installation and ease of operation.”

ConveyLinx is simple to install with convenient symmetrical wiring. Two-zone control also reduces wiring labor. Modules for each conveyor section of an integrated system connect with standard Ethernet cabling. If the conveyor system is already in alignment with ConveyLinx default settings, the press of a single button will complete installation and the system will be ready to use as shown on

Changing the module’s default settings can be quickly accomplished using separate ConveyLinx EasyRoll software. By plugging a PC into the network, the EasyRoll configuration software allows users to alter motor type, speed and other factors.
