The FREE, daylong celebration is the capstone event of the seventh annual San Diego River Days, the nonprofit organization's nine-day celebration of the river which includes more than 30 different activities from the mountains to the ocean hosted by 24 different community groups and public agencies.

With Outdoor Recreation as its theme, RiverFest will feature family-oriented activities that underscore what the San Diego River Park is all about—recreation, ecology, sustainability—and just plain fun.

“We are hoping this event calls attention to the efforts and progress being made to create a river-long park system, which will ultimately lead to something beautiful that we can all enjoy as a community,” said Rob Hutsel, executive director of SDRPF. “This event has something for everyone and many organizations will be on hand to provide information about volunteer opportunities so people can get involved with this exciting project.”
