IQwind, innovator of a variable gearbox for the wind industry known as the IQgearbox, announced today that it has been chosen as the winner of the “Doing Good and Doing Well” Cleantech Venture Seminar Viewers’ Choice Award. The conference was held on February 26-27th at the IESE Business School in Barcelona.
The IESE Business School is ranked amongst the top 3 business schools in Europe and is the organizer of the “Doing Good and Doing Well” annual event, which focuses on trends in Cleantech and Venture Capital Funding.
IQwind was chosen as the most outstanding company by a panel of 15 of Europe’s finest Cleantech venture capital firms as well as the audience popular vote.
“The investors and audience were impressed with the high impact IQwind technology brings to the total cost of wind energy.” said Aron Kuehnemann, a member of the IESE organizing committee.
“IQwind continues to be recognized as a high potential player in the clean energy field. We are pacing toward commercialization of our uniquely positioned IQgear technology. Our first step is to retrofit existing wind turbines to improve their annual production by up to 20%” said Gideon Ziegelman, founder and CEO of IQWind Ltd. “Consequently, we plan to leverage the technology to develop our own new turbine (IQturbine) centred around the IQgear. The IQturbine will reduce initial cost and improve efficiency; thus it has the potential to be a true game changer in the wind market” added Mr. Ziegelman.
