DataTrans Solutions, the premier provider of EDI solutions in the Healthcare sector is proud to announce an alliance with Foresight Corporation to combine Foresight’s Instream HIPAA Validator with DataTrans EDI solutions. Foresight is the leader in providing validation software for HIPAA transactions. The combined solution allows healthcare organizations to implement a comprehensive HIPAA EDI solution that will provide for real-time validation of claims and other HIPAA EDI messages and allow for a fully integrated EDI solution mapped to the organizations claims management or other back end system.

The EDI initiative within the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) contained provision related to the implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in the exchange of Healthcare information, such as claims. Later HIPAA EDI requirements, such as the new X12 5010 version, have modified and refined the HIPAA EDI requirements. The utilization of EDI within the Healthcare industry continues to expand and organizations are looking for ways to streamline the implementation to insure the best return on their IT investment. This new comprehensive offering of HIPAA validation and an integrated EDI solution not only allows for compliance with HIPAA EDI requirements, but cost savings by vastly reducing the number of exceptions that require manual intervention. The DataTrans EDI/Validation package automates the feedback to the sending party and the separation of data to provide for a very efficient automated integrated exchange.

Organizations can now go to one source for a combined solution that will provide fully automated transaction management which will:

  •     Ensure transactions pass HIPAA requirements
  •     Enforce customer business rules and guidelines
  •     Improve claim first pass rates and insure that one bad claim does not cause a full batch to reject.
  •     Intelligently route data to downstream applications (fully integrated to the EDI process)
  •     Validate inbound and outbound transactions against HIPAA types 1-7.
  •     Fully integrate the EDI exchange with internal systems

The result is a turn-key HIPAA validation and integrated EDI solution to completely automate the exchange of HIPAA data.

DataTrans evaluated several organizations to partner with to provide a comprehensive EDI translation and validation solution and it was apparent that Foresight was the proven leader in HIPAA validation software solutions. Foresights HIPAA validation engine has been the proven leader in the healthcare validation space since 2000 with over 200 successful implementations.
