Trujillo, Peru (PRWEB) March 29, 2010
APR Energy(APR) is proud to announce that its Trujillo, Peru power plant has recently been named one of the World’s Best Power Plants by Diesel and Gas Turbine Worldwide magazine. Each year, Diesel and Gas Turbine Worldwide magazine accepts submissions for its World’s Best Power Plants issue highlighting power facilities that demonstrate advances in efficiency, emissions and reliable power. To qualify to be featured in this annual issue, power plants must demonstrate progress in the fields of efficiency, emissions, environmental aesthetics, construction principles and operational characteristics.
APR Energy’s Trujillo power facility was selected as one of this year’s World’s Best Power Plants along with 13 other power plants located globally that were commissioned, upgraded or overhauled in 2009. APR’s Trujillo site produces a combined 60MW of power and was contracted to provide this service to supplement existing power for Electroperú S.A., the government- owned national utility in Peru. Additional power supplies were requested to combat droughts which caused shortages of power generation that would normally be provided by hydro-electric plants. The plant was rapidly deployed and constructed by APR Energy in early 2009 and is currently being both operated and maintained by APR’s team of technicians and local APR- trained Peruvian workers.
