Due to the worldwide popularity of its 300 pages of free underwater photography tutorials, the Underwater Photography Guide has significantly expanded its website, adding several new components.
The new Dive Destination Guide covers over 30 popular dive destinations from around the world and gives advice that underwater photographers will find of interest. Each comprehensive destination guide covers underwater photography tips specific to that area, travel logistics, dive sites, the marine life most likely to be seen and is accompanied by examples of beautiful underwater photography from the region. Additional destinations will be added over the next several weeks.
Several free video tutorials have been added to the Underwater Photography Guide, covering lenses, lighting, and composition. Additional videos are being released soon.
The Underwater Photography Guide welcomes four new editors to its team of writers. Accomplished Underwater Photographer Randy Harwood from RandyHarwoodPhotography.com will be joining as Diving Editor, writing a biweekly column on exotic diving destinations and underwater adventures. Randy’s “Underwater World” calendar has been in continuous publication since 1986. He has contributed numerous photographs and articles to books, advertising media and magazines, including “Outdoor Photographer”, “SCUBA World”, Rodales “SCUBA Diving”, and many more.
Todd Winner from ToddWinner.com is joining as Techniques Editor, writing about underwater photography techniques such as composition and creative techniques. Todd has been competing in photography competitions for over 10 years, winning prizes in SEA, LAUPS, Ford Seahorse, DEEP, Underwater Images and other competitions.
Ridlon & Carin Kiphart, aka Sharkman and Mantagirl from Live Adventurously are coming aboard as Travel Editors. Members of the prestigious Explorers Club, twice each month they will surface from the depths and trek through the jungle to find the nearest internet connection. Their column will cover travel tips, stories from the road and all things of interest to the traveling underwater photographer.
Bill Van Antwerp of BlueViews.net is taking on the reigns of Technology Editor, with a column covering topics such as testing strobes, lenses, memory cards, and other technical subjects related to underwater photography. Bill tests equipment in an actual scientific lab, and has an extensive collection of cameras, lenses and underwater housings.
Founder and Senior Editor Scott Gietler, along with several guest columnists, will write columns on Marine Life, Underwater Photography tips and Photoshop techniques.
