The rapid, widespread acceptance of PTE Academic is a testament to the critical need for an accurate measurement of the English language listening, reading, speaking and writing abilities of non-native speakers
Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 25, 2010
Today at the 2010 Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Conference, Pearson announced the launch of the PTE Academic Professional Partner Network, formed to support the growing recognition and delivery of the new Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic).
Language training providers and other organizations committed to international education are eligible to join the PTE Academic Professional Partner Program and receive visibility on the professional partner page of http://www.pearsonpte.com; discounts on Pearson language products; and access to premium services, such as lesson plans and teacher training workshops.
PTE Academic accurately and authentically measures the real-life language ability of test takers and provides an advantage to institutions evaluating international students for admission to an environment where academic English is the primary language of communication.
"The rapid, widespread acceptance of PTE Academic is a testament to the critical need for an accurate measurement of the English language listening, reading, speaking and writing abilities of non-native speakers," said Mark Anderson, President, Global Strategy and Business Development, Pearson Education International. "Our new PTE Academic Professional Partner Program was designed to help organizations interested in promoting and providing English language learning services."
More than 1,050 academic programs worldwide have recognized or are in the process of recognizing PTE Academic. The test is delivered in a convenient, single three-hour session, exclusively via computers through Pearson's global network of secure testing centers in 37 countries and territories. It is offered on an ongoing basis for convenient scheduling.
Information about PTE Academic, the PTE Academic Professional Partner network and PTE Academic is available at Pearson's booth (#434) at the TESOL Conference at the TESOL 2010 Annual Meeting in Boston, March 24 - 27.
PTE Academic is the preferred English language test of the prestigious Graduate Management Admission Council® (GMAC®), owner of the Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT).
