Go Stand Speak Ministries in partnership with The Apologetics Group have announced the release of several previews of their new upcoming “not-so-politically correct” film, “Go. Stand, Speak: The Forgotten Power of the Public Proclamation of the Gospel.” (Previews can be seen for a limited time at GoStandSpeak.com.)
"Go. Stand, Speak: The Forgotten Power of the Public Proclamation of the Gospel” is both a documentary on public preaching or “street preaching" as well as an apologetic on how, when, when, where and how to do it in a biblically faithful and Christ-honoring way. The producers took the title in part from Acts 5:5, where the early Christians were told to “go, stand and speak all the words of this life in the temple.”
Eric Holmberg, founder of The Apologetics Group (http://www.theapologeticsgroup.com), is not a newcomer to film-making. Over the last 25 years he has written and produced -- and often hosted -- over two dozen acclaimed Christian documentaries such as Amazing Grace: The History & Theology of Calvinism, Hell's Bells 2, Pandora's Box Office, The Real Jesus, and many more. Concerning "Go, Stand, Speak" he has said, “I'm as excited about this project as any other we have done for one big reason: I believe God will use it to spark the enlistment of hundreds, if not thousands, of public preachers to proclaim His gospel of the Kingdom;”
Holmberg is known for as a foremost expert on “Christian revivalistic” filmmaking, and those that are familiar with his work can expect to see nothing less than the life-changing, sometimes controversial, non-politically correct, presentation of scriptural truths presented in such a way that gets Christians out of their comfort zone and taking risks for God. Holmberg anticipates, “It will definitely ruffle a few feathers.”
Aside from its up close and personal look into the world of street preaching, the films contains dozens of expert interviews with a panel of some of the world's leading experts on public preaching: Ray Comfort, Tony Miano, Paul Washer, Dr. George Grant, Michael Marcavage, Greg Gordon, Rusty Lee Thomas, Jeff Rose, Shawn Holes and many more were interviewed for the film. Topics such as the Biblical mandate for public preaching, the history, legal concerns, the how-to’s, the why’s, along with preaching footage from around the world, will be discussed and investigated.
Pat Necerato, founder of Go Stand Speak Ministries, hopes to see the fallacies and stereotypes associated with public preaching eliminated. With such a growing interest in this topic among Christians and non-Christians alike, Necerato believes God could use a film such as this to raise up an army of public preachers within our nation and beyond, and encourage those already out on the front lines.
Necerato says, “During this time in history, our families, churches and nation, need to hear God’s Word proclaimed publically…now more than ever. We must get back to the biblical principles of obedience, leadership, education and morality. Not only is the hearing of the gospel the only way the lost can be saved, but it’s also what God has called us to do to reform in our families, churches and our nation. The gospel of the kingdom must be proclaimed and obeyed just as scripture teaches. The Bible and history is full of examples of public preaching. Pastors, evangelists, elders and all who are called, must get out on the street, confront evil, and preach the gospel just as we see in scripture.”
Necerato, an Evangelist, business owner and street preacher, who is co-producing this film with Holmberg, continues…
“The film tackles many questions that need to be answered about public preaching or open air preaching….and about the preachers themselves. Even Christians are asking, is public preaching biblical? Is it legal? Who should be doing it? Why should we do it? How it should be done? What should the message be? This film attempts to biblically answer these and many other questions. It’s our prayer that God will use this film to not only cause an insurgence of new preachers to flood the streets biblically, ethically and lovingly, with the gospel of Jesus Christ, but to also move Christians to encourage public preaching within their own churches.”
The film can be pre-ordered at http://www.GoStandSpeak.com and is scheduled for release on DVD in June 2010. Media contacts: gostandspeak(at)gmail(dot)com or call 848-459-6733
