Cha spoke about a new business offering, based on social networking concepts, that helps employees better manage their healthcare and businesses their health plans.

A new business model incorporating social networking that successfully engages individuals in managing their healthcare was the focus of remarks today by Henry Cha, President of Healthcare Interactive.

Cha spoke at the March 25 Intelligent Health conference, one in a series hosted by the Galen Institute, about electronic health records and Web 2.0 technology.

“Today, technology allows companies to reduce health costs by connecting the plan sponsors, plan members and provider community in an interactive healthcare system,” Cha said. “This virtual social network allows all entities to work together towards better health and higher member compliance.”

Healthcare Interactive, specializes in innovative technology solutions which mainly serve to provide employers with tools to better make better business decisions about their health plans. Using data and predictive modeling software, businesses can gain a better understanding of plan costs and were savings can be achieved.

Cha is a board member for the Healthcare Performance Management Institute (HPM Institute), an organization that supports the education of business leaders about technology and management principles that help deliver more cost-effective healthcare benefits for employers who cover their employees.

The Galen Institute conference series serves to bring members of the business and policy communities together to discuss innovations, challenges and recent progress in the health industry.
