Monday is a big day for a transplanted executive producer from Los Angeles, a director and cast member from KING 5’s “Almost Live!”, and a former Today Show anchor and Dateline NBC reporter. That’s because Monday is the premiere date of KING 5’s “New Day Northwest” (http://www.KING5.com/new-day-northwest) and Tracy Green, Steve Wilson and Margaret Larson are excited and ready for launch.
Executive Producer Tracy Green’s resume includes co-producing two Discovery Network hits for Original Productions – “Deadliest Catch” and “Jesse James’ Monster Garage”. Steve Wilson’s directing credits include KOMO TV’s “Northwest Afternoon” and his long tenure at Almost Live! Steve isn’t the only former KING 5 employee to come back for New Day Northwest. Host Margaret Larson, brings her experience as a former NBC News correspondent, Today Show news anchor and Dateline NBC reporter, back to KING 5. This is Margaret's second stint with KING 5. She was an anchor for KING 5 News for several years after moving to Seattle.

The one-hour weekday show, taped before a studio audience at KING 5, will be a showcase for what makes living in the Pacific Northwest so special. New Day Northwest premieres on KING 5 at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 29th. In addition to covering current events and what’s happening in our community, the show will also include some entertaining sponsorship segments.

To accommodate KING 5’s new talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” moves from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and “Dr. Phil” switches from 3:00 to 2:00 PM beginning Monday. “The Bonnie Hunt Show” jumps from 2:00 PM on KING 5 over to sister station KONG 6/16, airing at 5:00 PM.

Tracy Green’s extensive work experience includes executive producing “Noonday”, a live daily local talk show at WXIA TV in Atlanta for six years. She moved to Los Angeles as supervising producer and helped launch the syndicated show “Extra” for Telepictures. Tracy also served as a West Coast bureau producer for CNBC and as the supervising producer in King World’s launch of “The Roseanne Show”. For the CBS prime time reality series “Big Brother”, she filled the producing supervisor role for the weekly live elimination show. Tracy is also the published author of two books, “The Bad Day Book” and “Show Aging Parents You Care”. Raised in Chicago, Tracy graduated from Indiana University.

Steve Wilson has been working in the Northwest media industry for over thirty years. His KING 5 history started in 1977 as an intern and later hired as a floor director. Promoted to director / producer in 1982, Steve’s resume includes non-news programming from KING 5’s past like “Seattle Today”, “Good Company”, and several live specials and sporting events through the years and, of course, fifteen years on Almost Live! Ventures into radio include serving as co-host on “The Andy Savage Show” on 107.7 The End and on-air producing for “The Pat Cashman Show” on KOMO AM 1000. From 1999 to 2008, Steve worked at KOMO TV, directing Northwest Afternoon, KOMO 4 News and several special projects including freelance directing for clients along the West Coast.
