Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) March 30, 2010
TCGen, Inc., a Silicon Valley based management consulting firm, announced that it was an invited speaker that the 2010 Association for Strategic Planning Annual Conference in Pasadena, California
Leveraging the theme of Positioning for Long Term Success in a Short Term World, TCGen principals John Carter and Jeanne Bradford presented compelling examples of how companies can implement Predictive Metrics as a real-time tool for achieving long-term success. Now more than ever companies need tools to bridge the gap between strategy and execution. Schedule Prediction Accuracy (SPA) allows executives to predict the timely delivery of strategic initiatives by plotting predicted dates versus date of prediction. A technique using Half Life (the time needed to get 50% improvement) is the best way to set strategic targets if no better estimates exist for rate of improvement. The power of predictive metrics provides simple, real-time feedback of an organization's execution to its objectives. This interactive presentation demonstrated the power of real time, predictive metrics and the benefits it provides by making better decisions faster, maintaining focus on key strategic drivers from the board and the CEO and preventing bad outcomes. Out of Bounds Reviews (OOB) were described as one way to combine predictive metrics with decision making to suggest processes that increased the speed of decisions while minimizing politics.
Characterized by attendees as “The best presentation of the conference” and “This is what ASP needs to deliver, bringing in leading-edge information that clearly works”. , Carter and Bradford provided practical examples that could be applied immediately across multiple disciplines of the business, including finance, product development, operations, sales and customer satisfaction.
