Major update supports OpenGL, Flash (SWF), QuickTime, Unicode, Mac OS X 10.6, Windows 7, and 64-bit systems

Multimedia software producer Xochi Media Inc announces the release of iScreensaver Designer version 4.0, the world's only multi-platform screensaver editor.

First released in 1998, iScreensaver Designer is a cross-platform screensaver editor for Macintosh and Windows. iScreensaver will convert QuickTime-compatible images, movies, and Adobe Flash (SWF) files into a standard screensaver with user-friendly installer.

"We looked into adding minor features to version 3.5 or doing a major update to prepare for the future," described iScreensaver creative director Brett Spivey. "We chose the major upgrade, which took a little longer, but we're really happy about our new foundation built specifically for Snow Leopard, Windows 7, and beyond."

Version 4.0 provides support for the next generation of hardware and software: Mac OS X 10.6, Windows 7, and 64-bit CPUs with fast OpenGL graphics cards. All iScreensaver users are encouraged to upgrade.

Features in Version 4.0:

Mac OS X 10.6 and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit).
Quicktime 7 with AVC/H.264 support.
Fast OpenGL image effects.
Adobe Flash Version 10 / ActionScript 3.
Sequence movies, Flash, and images together in any order.
Include hundreds or even thousands of items.
Background audio soundtracks.
Overlay layers provide styled unicode text captions and pictures.
Many image formats including PNG/TIFF with alpha transparency.
Optional unlockable content with flexible key code generation.
Optional user Heads Up Display (HUD) with thumbnail browser, play controls, and audio mute.

And many, many more... please see http://iscreensaver.com/features.shtml for a complete feature list.

About iScreensaver:

iScreensaver Designer 4 includes full support for Mac OS X (from 10.4 to 10.6), Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, and Windows 7). The editor software is available for Macintosh and Windows, and either version will build a screensaver for both platforms.

iScreensaver is available as a free trial download, where all features can be tested with no time limit before purchase.

The user-friendly toolkit will convert nearly any media format (QuickTime-compatible movies and pictures including H.264, Adobe Flash (SWF), PICT, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and dozens of other formats) into a screensaver with built-in installer. Highly customizable, including splash screens, web links, unlockable content (with key generation), wallpaper desktop images, plus smart installer with automatic QuickTime and Flash plugin version checking. iScreensaver includes a powerful WYSIWYG sequence editor and uses OpenGL hardware acceleration for image effects.

It is recommended that all users of iScreensaver Designer upgrade to 4.0. Discounted and/or free upgrades are available for qualifying owners of previous versions.
