We have more than 20 men for every 1 UK woman – that's pretty good odds for the ladies.
(PRWEB) March 31, 2010
Dating website Cougared.com has been flooded with thousands of men from the UK in recent months as awareness of the American cougar trend grows in Europe.
However it seems that women in the UK still have not picked up the cougar craze yet as there are an incredible 20 UK men for every 1 UK woman.
Now prime time Cougar Town (starts on Living TV, March 30), is expected to help even out the gender ratio as women take inspiration from Cox's character Jules Cobb, a 40-something divorcee who turns her back on 'fat, bald and damaged' men her own age.
Cougared.com founder Oliver Jameson said:
“We are really hoping that Cougar Town coming to Living TV in the UK will open up women's eyes on this side of the Atlantic to the amazing possibilities of dating younger men.
“There are many 40+ women in the UK who may have given up on dating, but they have no idea that there are thousands of great looking younger men online specifically looking to meet mature, sophisticated women like them.
“We have more than 20 men for every 1 UK woman – that's pretty good odds for the ladies. Imagine going to a party and there being a 20 to 1 ratio of men to women – once women realise how stacked the odds are in their favour we expect to have a big rush of UK ladies joining the site.
“Cougar Town is a breath of fresh air. For once, a TV show has presented a non-judgemental view of cougars, which, whilst not shying away from stereotypes, actually explores the world of inter-age dating, rather than casting it in a negative light.
“At http://www.cougared.com, we know that there is more to cougars than the myths and stereotypes from movies like American Pie. Our Cougar Report published last autumn, shows that the majority of cougars are not sex-crazed sugar mummies, but women looking for fun but long-term relationships with younger men on an emotional level.
“We feel it’s about time someone got to the truth so that older women who date younger men are more accurately represented.
“Hopefully publicity around Cougar Town, and the fact it stars Courteney Cox, will help the general public in the UK to be more accepting and aware of the older women/younger men trend.”
