New York, NY (Vocus) March 30, 2010
For the first time ever, four leading experts in the fields of publishing, information marketing, media/P.R. and copyrighting will come together to present their strategies for success in the once mighty but now struggling book industry.
Monday, May 24th, one day prior to the publishing industry’s leading trade show, Book Expo in New York City, industry executives Fred Gleeck, Burke Allen, Ron Pramschfuer and Bob Bly will share their combined expertise with attendees during an exclusive one day boot camp being held at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center, 71 West 23rd Street in New York City.
"Contrary to public perception, most authors can't seem to earn a decent living with their book sales. The vast majority, and by that I mean 99%, of authors make less than $50,000 a year. This is the seminar to show them how to be in the other one percent”, said event co-organizer Fred Gleeck, who will share how he has leveraged his own books and other projects into highly successful ancillary information marketing products.
Ron Pramshufer, whose Manhattan-based self publishing firm is an industry leader, has worked with hundreds of authors and added “Anyone who wants to massively increase their revenues as an author or publisher should attend this event. If you're an author, speaker, consultant or publisher, this event is tailor-made for you.”
Burke Allen, the CEO of Washington DC based media, marketing and P.R. firm Allen Media Strategies said, "A lot of what you hear these days in the book world is from the ‘old guard’ with tired ideas and concepts that just haven't kept up with the times. This is the first time ever you’ll get the four of us in the same room at the same time showing the specific strategies we use with our clients. I’m really excited to learn from the other presenters myself!"
Bob Bly, the author of more than 75 books including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Direct Marketing (Alpha Books) and The Copywriter's Handbook (Henry Holt & Co.) will instruct attendees on how to sell their book to a major NYC publisher for a five-figure advance, even in this difficult economy. Bly’s articles have appeared in numerous publications such as DM News, Writer's Digest, Amtrak Express, Cosmopolitan, Inside Direct Mail, and Bits & Pieces for Salespeople.
Admission for the one day event is $97.00. Because it’s being held one day prior to Book Expo America, organizers expect the boot camp to sell out in advance. Interested attendees can register at http://www.publishingseminar.com.
