DMTI Spatial Inc. (DMTI), Canada’s leading provider of Location Intelligence solutions, announces Cheryl Pounder, winner of two Olympic Gold medals in Women’s Hockey in Salt Lake City and Torino, as a Motivational Keynote speaker for its annual customer conference, Expedition 2010. Taking place on Thursday April 22nd, 2010 at the King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Expedition 2010 offers a unique opportunity for participants, from a variety of industries, to learn how effective address management can be a core strategy in targeting new customers, optimizing services and managing assets through continuous data governance.

Cheryl Pounder was born in Montreal into a family of hockey enthusiasts: A grandfather, who was GM of the Montreal Junior Canadiens, and her hockey playing older brothers. The rink in the family's backyard also helped to set her on the path of excellence at Canada's national sport. Upon moving to Mississauga, Ontario, she achieved the status of athlete of the year at both her high school and Wilfred Laurier University, where she earned an honours degree in Kinesiology.

Cheryl played on Canada's 1994, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005 (All-Star Defenseman) World Championship Hockey teams and was voted the top defenceman at the 2002, 2004, 2007 and MVP at the 2005 Canadian Women's Hockey National Championship.

“We are excited to have Cheryl as a motivational speaker at Expedition 2010. Her achievements within the world of women’s hockey are, to say the least, outstanding. The commitment needed to reach such a high level of excellence is a fantastic example of what ‘putting your mind to something and just going for it’ can achieve,” said Alex MacKay, CEO, DMTI Spatial Inc. “I believe that Cheryl will be a huge compliment to the speakers we have for this year’s conference and we look forward to hearing her story and applying it to our customers’ business challenges.”
