Cloud service provides metadata removal protection for iPad users to ensure data remains secure.

3BCleanDocs, a cloud-based service designed to prevent the inadvertent disclosure of metadata in documents sent by email via desktop, laptop or mobile devices, is now available for the iPad.

3BView, a global leader in metadata removal, today announces that 3BCleanDocs, a cloud-based service designed to prevent the inadvertent disclosure of metadata in documents sent by email via desktop, laptop or mobile devices, is now available for the iPad.

“As lawyers review, edit, and forward documents via mobile devices or access methods such as webmail or mobile-enabled document management systems, these documents are not protected by desktop metadata solutions,” stated Paul Averill, CEO of 3BView. “Subscribing to a cloud-based metadata removal service provides the solo practitioner or small firm with easy-to-use protection across multiple device types and access methods.”

3BCleanDocs enables users to remove any metadata in a document by simply adding a code to an email address. All of the hidden data stored behind the visible content of a document, such as tracked changes, author, time stamp, etc., will be removed and not available for the recipient to view.

Since the launch of the service in December 2009, 3BCleanDocs is now protecting professionals across regulated sectors such as Legal and Financial Services, across multiple devices spanning desktop, laptop, Blackberry, Mac, and iPhone, and will shortly be protecting the early iPad users.
