On March 21, 2010, SPC Works, the developer of real time statistical process control and data acquisition software SPC Works, announces the release of SPC Works 4.0, an integrated quality control tool designed specifically to acquire data and calculate statistical process control in real time. SPC Works offers many new enhancements for automated processes, quality control, and ease of use.
First released in 2005, SPC Works is a 'no frills' SPC software. The software was developed specifically for non-technical manufacturers and engineers who need quality control tools. "I found that most commercially available SPC software had too many features. It was confusing. The concept of SPC is easy, and I thought that SPC software should also be easy. So I started developing SPC Works," says Peery, owner and founder of SPC Works.
Significant New Features of SPC Works 4.0 Include:
Interactive (click-able) charts - hover over or click control charts or capability charts to quickly get more detailed information.
Automated data acquisition - collect data in real time from serial and/or USB connections (RS232), OPC servers, and text files.
Alarms - send an email or write to an OPC server when a process is out-of-control or out-of-specification.
Images - reduce data collection errors by displaying images of specific parts or dimensions to workers.
Visual Logbook - record process changes and display them on control charts to assist in identifying special causes of variation.
