Twenty dollars is all it takes to benefit from an open-to-the-public event taking place Saturday, April 24, 2010 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Seattle Design Center .

Eye on Design 2010 offers the public access to the best in home design -- from stunning sofas and spectacular fabrics to beds fit for a queen -- along with the opportunity to hear about color trends and tips from David Bromstad, HGTV's Design Star and host of Color Splash. Bromstad will speak from 10 - 11 a.m. about color trends, color combinations, this year's "hot" colors and how painting is one of the more affordable ways to transform a room.

From 1 - 2 p.m., Bromstad will paint two custom canvases to be donated to Rise n' Shine, a local organization providing support programs for children and teens affected by HIV and AIDS.

During this event, homeowners and others passionate about interior design can browse 40 SDC showrooms and meet one-on-one with a number of interior designers to find the perfect fit professional to meet their interior design needs.

“Color in the home can be transformative, and this is a great event from which to draw inspiration,” SDC Marketing Manager Craig Cross said. “We look forward to David’s presentation and encourage attendees to spend the day exploring showrooms and meeting with the talented interior designers onsite.”

Bromstad is happy to participate in telephone, radio, and blog interviews prior to his April 24 public appearance at Seattle Design Center's Eye on Design 2010 event. Media interviews on event day are limited to the 11 :15 a.m. - 12:15 window.
