Incidence, Mechanisms, and Severity of Game-Related College Football Injuries on FieldTurf Versus Natural Grass
Tucson, AZ (Vocus) April 1, 2010
The Arizona Wildcats have selected FieldTurf ‘Duraspine PRO’ for two of their Jimenez Football Practice Fields. The announcement was jointly made by University of Arizona Head Football Coach Mike Stoops and FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. FieldTurf Duraspine PRO is the latest innovation in the artificial turf industry and is the safest, highest performing and most durable product in the industry.
FieldTurf is the world’s safest and highest performing artificial turf surface as proven once again by a recent College Football Study entitled “Incidence, Mechanisms, and Severity of Game-Related College Football Injuries on FieldTurf Versus Natural Grass”. The peer-reviewed study is published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. The results of the study can be viewed at http://www.fieldturf.com/football/safety
“When we set out to replace the two fields at our practice facility, we looked at the different artificial turf options in the industry but none compared to FieldTurf,” said Stoops. “The company’s leadership in the areas of athlete safety and performance was a key factor in our decision-making. We are extremely proud about getting FieldTurf’s latest innovative product installed on campus.”
“We could not be more pleased that the Arizona Wildcats have put their confidence in our company and our product,” stated Daliere. “Our new Duraspine PRO product will allow the Wildcats to benefit from a more durable artificial grass blade that is also significantly softer than any other in the industry. Combined with our patented infill system’s renowned safety traits, the Wildcats will be getting the absolute best in artificial turf innovation.”
The Wildcats become the 7th team in the PAC-10 Conference to play and/or practice on FieldTurf joining the likes of Arizona State University, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, University of Southern California, University of Washington and Washington State University.
