As a relative newcomer to the talk space, I'm especially honored to be selected alongside award-winning, veteran broadcasters to the Frontier Fifty of TALKERS magazine.

TALKERS magazine, “The Bible of Talk Radio and the New Talk Media" and the leading trade publication serving the talk media industries in the United States, has named LK of LooseKannon.com to its Frontier Fifty webcasters in the March 2010 New Media Seminar issue. The Frontier Fifty is "a selection of outstanding talk media webcasters” chosen by TALKERS.
Having honed his razor sharp analytical mind as a philosophy major at Columbia University, LK combines his critical and cognitive skills with significant experience in entertainment production, the financial markets and youth sports to create blog commentary and podcast analysis distributed regularly through LooseKannon.com. Rather than constructing his direct, no-nonsense opinions within the context of a set political leaning, philosophy or party, LK instead presents a clear, unvarnished outlook whose roots lie in the much overlooked qualities of truth and common sense, as well as the irony that surrounds us so completely that we often forget it's there.
"As a relative newcomer to the talk space, I'm especially honored to be selected alongside award-winning, veteran broadcasters to the Frontier Fifty of TALKERS magazine," LK said. "The magazine, clearly the leading talk radio industry publication in the country, has accelerated the widespread awareness of me and LooseKannon.com by courageously publishing two pieces I've written that look at talk radio from unconventional angles. I'd like to thank publisher Michael Harrison and the crew at TALKERS for the honor and the opportunities."
Prior to the 2008 presidential election, LK used his experience as a board member and co-president of the parents advisory board for the Riverside Hawks, the nationally renowned basketball/educational program based out of Riverside Church in New York City, and his time as co-host of "Financially Incorrect," a talk show centered on finance and investor psychology, to craft policy statements on education and the economy for the Obama campaign. But, far from drinking neither the Hope nor the Change flavors of political Kool-Aid, LK openly criticized the newly elected president when he strayed from promises made on the campaign trail.
LK's extensive experience in the entertainment industry -- he has walls filled with gold records/CDs and "Billboard" magazine No.1 plaques -- provides him with the ability to see through public presentations and get to the core of the private realities of whatever subject he chooses to address.
While traditional media caricatures chase ratings by spewing divisive rhetoric in lock-step with the political interests of either liberal or conservative punditry, LK is the anti-pundit who provides insightful commentary on subject matter from economics to the environment to foreign policy and more. And, as witnessed through his "LK Called It" page on LooseKannon.com, he often sees the controversies and issues of the future well before those talking heads who parrot the party line talking points.
With a powerful oratory that relates to well-informed, sensible blue and white collar audiences alike, LK eschews the hair-brain, opposition-baiting antics and over-the-top hysterics so common to talkers who seem to gladly subjugate substantive argument and fair discourse for polarizing posturing and closed-loop communication.
In these very trying times within a nation that is deeply divided, few media analysts have the courage of their convictions to observe and deliver the truth. LK is proud to be a pioneer of both level-headed, sensible commentary and the cutting-edge technology that allows him to deliver it.
Launched in 2008, LooseKannon.com provides a broadcast and publishing platform for LK's no-nonsense commentary and analysis. In addition to "LK Called It," which chronicles some of the many trends that LK foresaw as potential issues well before the mainstream outlets began covering them, LK recently added a version of his podcast (known in the LK world as PodKast) that is enhanced with video imagery (the VideoKast). The well-constructed opinions are regularly read, and now heard, by tens of thousands each month. Contact him at email@example.com for additional information or to request an interview.
