Thought-provoking collection features author's beliefs, convictions, and love of life

Anthology of Poems by John Guerrero has been released by RoseDog Books. This book includes original poetry written over a span of forty years by John Guerrero. It primarily focuses on personal family life, people with whom he worked and played, living on the beautiful island of Guam, legends and culture of Guam, and some of his political views. He wrote about his beliefs, convictions, and love of life.

John Guerrero was born on January 7, 1936, in Agana, Guam, the second oldest of ten children to Juan and Rosa Guerrero of Barrigada, Guam. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1955 prior to entering service to his country in the United States Air Force on October 11, 1956. He married the love of his life, Teresita Martinez Perez, on May 3, 1958, and had four children, John, Patricia, Thomas, and Lenora. He enjoyed all that life had to give, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He represented the U.S. Air Force in competitive fast-pitch softball touring Asia, Australia, and New Zealand from 1968 to 1973.

John retired from the U.S. Air Force on January 31, 1977. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1980, graduating Magna Cum Laude from National College, Rapid City, South Dakota. He was inducted into Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges 1979-1980. John continued to serve his country as a civilian employee for the Department of the Air Force as a Supervisory Planner for Network Resource Utilization for the United States Space Command. He retired from his position on March 31, 1998.

During his last eleven years, he enjoyed life by filling his days with golf, fishing, traveling, writing poetry, corresponding with his email buddies, and frequent visits to Thunder Valley Casino. He fulfilled a final wish by taking his oldest grandson, Joe, with him to Guam, where they spent a month enjoying the relaxed island life, soaking in the clear Pacific Ocean every day, and eating empanadas daily. He was in the process of publishing this book of original poetry, which his children will see through to fruition. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years. He passed away on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, 2009.
