Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff Founding Member Reaches Significant Milestone; Firm Continues Legacy of Loyalty, Service and Trust

Los Angeles-based law firm Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff has announced that founding member Marshall Rutter (http://www.rutterhobbs.com/CM/Attorneys/MarshallRutter.asp) has reached his 50th anniversary of admission to the bar. During his long and richly influential career, Rutter has consistently provided his considerable legal expertise to his many long-standing clients of Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff, the firm he co-founded in 1973.

“As the legal profession has grown and changed dramatically over the years, it has remained my goal to build a firm that fosters loyalty, trust and personal dedication to quality work,” said Rutter. “It is a great honor to reach this milestone, and I am confident that my colleagues at Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff will continue to offer the very highest level of service to clients for years to come.”

Now 78, Rutter was a 1959 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. After he was informed of passing the California State Bar exam in November 1959 and then admitted in January 1960, he received one of the best job offers available at the time, earning $450 per month.

Rutter’s unwavering service philosophy stems from the influence of his father—also a lawyer, in a small town—who viewed his work not as a business or trade, but as a profession that required loyalty and personalized dedication. Clients clearly value this philosophy, as demonstrated by the fact that Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff has retained a number of clients since its inception. For instance, Rutter successfully incorporated a small family-owned business, Digital Printing Systems Inc., nearly 40 years ago. Today, Digital Printing Systems has grown into a leading, multi-million dollar ticket printing manufacturer based in Azusa, Calif., and continues to be a client of Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff. Likewise, Cessna Finance Corporation, the finance arm of Cessna Aircraft Company, has relied upon Rutter and his colleagues at Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff for its legal services since the firm was founded (http://www.rutterhobbs.com/CM/FirmOverview/Our-History.asp).

“Rooted in Marshall’s deep commitment to quality, Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff has grown into a full-service business law firm, handling the legal needs of our clients as their trusted advisors,” said Brian L. Davidoff (http://www.rutterhobbs.com/CM/Attorneys/BrianDavidoff.asp), managing director, Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff. “This, in turn, has enabled us to attract excellent new partners and senior associates, further expanding our team of smart, hard-working, collaborative attorneys.”
