Give2Asia, a leading U.S. philanthropic services nonprofit, and the LIN Center for Community Development, a Vietnam-based organization providing direct support to local nonprofits, today announce a fiscal sponsorship that enables U.S. donors to help strengthen the nonprofit and philanthropic sector within Vietnam.
The Vietnamese economy has been growing at a rapid pace; however, not all segments of the population are reaping the benefits of development. While the government and international donor community has stepped in to address this challenge in the past, Vietnam is becoming more dependent on local people and grassroots initiatives to provide a sustainable solution to the alarming rise in inequality. The LIN Center for Community Development serves individuals, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations that have stepped up to address this challenge.
“In our effort to help local people meet local needs,” explained Ms. Ngo Quynh Nhu, LIN’s Executive Director, “LIN aims to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic environment and strengthen the communities in which we live and work.”
LIN Center for Community Development promotes and coordinates community alliances in an effort to improve access to opportunities and improve the quality of life for people living in and around Ho Chi Minh City. By providing direct support to not-for-profit organizations, in the form of grants, training and volunteer matching services, LIN improves the ability of struggling or underprivileged groups to adapt and develop in a changing society. Simultaneously, LIN facilitates meaningful volunteer and donor opportunities for those individuals and organizations that are looking to make a difference in their communities.
"Give2Asia is committed to helping our donors in the U.S. with information and resources about local needs," said Dien S. Yuen, Chief Philanthropy Officer at Give2Asia, "our partnership with LIN provides us access to many local grassroots groups and leaders shaping the non-profit sector in Vietnam."
Give2Asia’s Fiscal Sponsorship services help approved Asia-based charitable groups establish a U.S. presence, provide professional donor stewardship, and provides tax-deductible support for Asia-based groups.
