Recruiting Innovation and return on investment data earns Shaker Consulting Group client KeyBank the top award for the Most Strategic Use of Technology in a recruiting application at the 2010 ERE Expo.
KeyBank used Shaker Consulting Group’s innovative Virtual Job Tryout, which allows candidates for teller and call center positions to take the job for a virtual test drive. Candidates learn a lot about the demands of the job and recruiters get a work sample that provides insight as to how well an applicant might perform on the job. Measurable results have shown up through better hiring decisions, resulting in lower costs for recruiting and training, higher levels of productivity, and better customer service.
Karen Vilardo, vice president, recruiting team leader was present to accept the award on behalf of KeyBank. “In 2007 we hired almost 400 people for our call centers. Due to improved retention using the Virtual Job Tryout, we only had to hire about 75 last year. Investing in our employees is a priority of Key’s and something that benefits our clients.”
The Virtual Job Tryout is a custom simulation for pre-employment testing. It mimics a range of on-the-job work demands such as interacting with customers and coworkers, solving problems, and working with data. Shaker Consulting Group collaborated with KeyBank to develop these solutions and provided the HR analytical tools that documented the business impact.
