Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) April 1, 2010
Film production company Hand Crank Films was chosen by the City of Bellingham, WA, to create a video for the 'Google Fiber for Communities' initiative. The objective of the video is to showcase not only the beauty and cultural variety of Bellingham, but also to highlight the technological benefits the city will provide to Google for their experimental, ultra high-speed broadband network.
The result is a 2:41 piece entitled 'Putting the G in Bellingham' that captures why Bellingham is the obvious choice for Google Fiber. Since being posted on You Tube on March 26th, the day of the Google deadline, the video has been viewed over 16,000 times and has received the highest marks from community leaders and members.
"Obviously, having Google choose Bellingham for their Fiber Project will be a tremendous asset to the community," says Hand Crank Films director Max Kaiser. "But Bellingham has a lot to offer Google as well, and we wanted to show that by telling a story that is both magical and unique."
The video has also garnered substantial press interest outside of Bellingham, and has been mentioned as the best video submission by TechFlash and other outlets.
"Our goal is to create high quality projects that tell your story," says Hand Crank's Chris Donaldson. "We feel we really accomplished that with this piece."
