He had it up-and-running in 15 minutes and he swears he will have it walking and talking by the end of the week!

This Press - the featuring the latest in technology, it took technicians at The Printing House, on the Marshfield Bank industrial estate off Middlewich Road, Crewe, Cheshire, UK - less than an hour to set up and there were print jobs queuing for it as soon as the power was connected.
“Unlike traditional ink-based presses, which can take days to bed in, the new digital units are ready to start production of Business Cards, Leaflets, Posters etc almost immediately”,said joint Managing Director Peter Harrison.
Increased demand for digital printing, which can produce just single sheet orders if required, is being driven by the company’s online design-and-order website which is getting up to 10,000 hits every week from all over the UK.
The new press will enable the Printing House to offer shorter order-to-print times and increase capacity.
Despite the high technology, however, there is a human side to the new machine as it is being looked after by one of the company’s youngest members of staff, 19-year-old Darren Cogger.
“Darren is a local lad who really understands this technology and he sees the new press very much as his baby”, added Mr Harrison: “He had it up-and-running in 15 minutes and he swears he will have it walking and talking by the end of the week!”.
This investment follows up the recent investment in a Mimaki Large Format JV33 printing machine - this device was bought for its ability to produce banner stands, Large Posters, Banners and Exhibition Stands. Two weeks after installation the press was full to capacity and has stayed that way ever since.
"We are now actively considering a second machine, possibly a flat bed device," said Paul Springthorpe, Joint MD.
Print Buying Direct is a trading name of The Printing House.
