Florence Tours get Green with Florence Pass

In touch with tourists since 1982, Florence Pass is now re-opening its doors to offer international travellers tailor-made tours of Florence and Tuscany. Several new walking tours of Florence have been crafted to show all the hidden secrets of the "Cradle of the Reniassance" in a green, natural style.

In April 2010, Florence's tourists can enjoy a "Green Walk at San Giovanni Quarter": from Piazza della Repubblica the stroll proceeds westwards towards the spectacular Palazzo Strozzi, majestic example of private Early Renaissance architecture, and then heads to the Ponte Santa Trinita to admire all the naturalistic beauty of the Arno river.

The tour then reaches Piazza Santa Maria Novella, passing close to Palazzo Rucellai, another jewel of Renaissance architecture by Leon Battista Alberti, who also erected the wonderful façade of the Dominican basilica of Santa Maria Novella; the interiors are impressively rich of arts and history, thanks to frescoes by Masaccio and Domenico del Ghirlandaio.
