Florida ranks second in the U.S. in the number of FDA-registered medical device companies, and Pinellas has more medical technology employees than any other county in the state.” Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development.
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) April 5, 2010
The medical research and device development company provides personalized electro-magnetic treatment regimens for multiple diseases and disorders. It will use the new office space to accelerate enrollment in two ongoing clinical trials, one for Parkinson's disease and the other for Type 2 Diabetes.
Airport Business Center's central-Pinellas location will be advantageous for employees of Pico-Tesla and for participants in the trials. The office park is located directly across from the St. Petersburg/Clearwater airport, offering commutes of less than 20-minutes from Tampa, St. Petersburg and Upper Pinellas.
"Pico-Tesla Magnetic Therapies will be in good company in Clearwater. Florida ranks second in the U.S. in the number of FDA-registered medical device companies, and Pinellas has more medical technology employees than any other county in the state," said Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development. "We have workers with the right skills and many opportunities for joint ventures or supplier relationships with other local firms in the same industry."
Florida's West Coast was a natural choice for Pico-Tesla's expansion. The company is headquartered in Littleton, Colorado and CEO Allen Braswell, Jr. is a native of the Clearwater area. He's familiar with the business and quality of life advantages the Tampa Bay area offers. "It's nice to get back home and pursue this exciting business opportunity in a place where I have so many friends and family," says Braswell. The Clearwater office space lease for the new east coast headquarters will begin on April 15.
